There were certainly many valid bans that I support, however there were plenty that I disagree with.

People should be able to down voat on that site without concern of bans and punishment.

Why hasn't the down voat issue been addressed through software first?

Not so much bots as you could use captchas, timers, and IP tracking to limit down voat brigading.

The whole situation reeks of a power tripping administration. Plus the fact that so many power users are trying so hard to convince everyone that everything is fine... yeah, going to give voat some space.

essentially though, trolls (some of which included this pedopack) stoke up fights between user A and user B, manipulate both into a big fight, and leave user A and user B to take any blame while they ride off into the sunset

The worst trouble that I ran into on Voat? Was for criticizing people who linked to Youtube. I understand that I'm writing for an audience that includes alt-right and non-altright people, but generally my appeal is to the alt right. And if you're altright, you despise youtube. I won't say that's proof positive that the youtube crowd are all shills, but since they make money by posting little shite videos to that hate platform, I'm not sure what else to call them.

I guess my point is that I believe you that you were persecuted by them, because some people do weird things for money.

I link to youtube all the time. I don't have a fucking larger conspiracy. Anytime I try to go to all the other crappy shit site alternatives you guys push they never work or they don't have the same video. Listen, I'm here for fun. I'm not reorganizing my entire life and wasting a butt load of time waiting for these junky alternatives to load shit just to win the "alt right pc approved" badge. Just watch what I post, laugh, leave a comment and move on. When someone hosts a reliable content alternative that doesn't take a bunch of extra time or steps to share content, then I will use it. Right now that isn't a thing.
