I didn't get banned either but I'm also no fan of the sketchiness. If I were to guess it would be that it's all related to the post a few month back about Voat finding an "Angel" ... "Angel Investor?" (Not sure exactly) but any time money gets involved you have to keep an eye out. I've truly loved my time at Voat, but I seriously doubt it will be even close to the same place in another year. Just look at how it's changed in the last year and that was before the "Angel" came along. Reddit has been shedding some of their most toxic communities (after shedding the conservative ones, which isn't the same thing). Most of those washouts have ended up on the shores of Voat and we all know how uncontrolled migration works out for the local culture in the long run.
