I will never understand why people decide to microchip themselves, their children, or their employees. It's such a stupid and scary idea that I could be tracked anywhere and have no privacy just because I have some little thing in my skin.

I've never been chipped and never known anyone who's been chipped. Who does this?

my thoughts exactly.

why would you want some device you don't have full control over embedded in your body. You can't just turn it off, you'd have to cut it out to get away from it.

Fuck that noise

Stop being so antisemitic.

Also, I give it a week at most after they become mandatory before they get cracked, and suddenly people have their identities stolen, or people are framed for murder because their chips were pinged at the crime scene or something. Computers and security don't even belong in the same book, unless that book is the dictionary.

I worry that it's gonna cause an increase in ID theft as well because of flawed security.

You also know that every single cell phone will immediately start pinging every chip in the area at all times, then sending that information back to every corporation and government willing to pay. They'll know exactly where everyone is, at all times. Even better than 5G. The NPCs won't even give a shit, until they start getting rounded up for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the rest of them will just rationalize it away. "Maybe s/he shouldn't have been doing bad things in the first place!" What's defined as "bad" will keep on creeping, until even the most upright citizens are rounded up and sent to the gulags.

I was preparing to defend the practice of microchipping your cats and dogs when I read your statement.

:-D

Does anyone actually do this? I haven't heard of a human application other than one guy who did it to himself to open the electric doors in his house when he walked next to them.
