Yeah I am now feeling like he is a pretty selfish person to keep Voat limping along. Time to call it a good run and shut it down already. He is just not ready to admit defeat.

Also there is a lot of broken stuff on Voat that has never been fixed. Like try going through the history of a user or a domain. For users it errors at page 20. For domains at page 10.

That was to stop sanegoatiswear from going into his deep history past page 50 and using alternate accounts to upvote his main account. He was not the only one doing it, but it also cut down on server bandwidth and processing costs to limit it. several spam bots started using this method as well, which was one of voat's many crashes.

It was not an ideal solution, but it was one of many stop gap measures that have piles up over the past 4 years. If poal takes off, it may need to do something similar to address the automated bot problem.

the sad part of this issue is that there are 2 sides to this coin. Those who looked for the reason for this change and were around at just the right time to find it, and those who either never bothered, or found restriction and never found out about why. An F.A.Q. page could have had this as an answer, but with only 1 staff member, there was never time to compile one. Putting an F.A.Q. together as issues like this pop up could help with transparency, and if anyone asks about it just point them to the F.A.Q.

Half the problem with voat is most changes like this are not written down anywhere unless you can dig through the announcements or the admin's comment history, which this issue compounds if it falls past page 19...

Part of that long post was about lack of content on Voat. They have NEVER gotten subverse transfers working smoothly or consistently for any long period of time. What do they expect?

Yeah, sorry I know very well that the site is 1 guy. Just said they out of habit. I guess I was thinking back when it was 2+ guys (Daniel Flamino and others too) and "they" never got subverse transfers right.

Since when does Puttitout give regular updates about anything except when the site goes down? Then he comes back and acts like the world's savior (while acting like a spoiled little faggot) and collects all the praise from the addicts. Then he disappears for another 3 months until the site goes down again. "Regular updates" lmao.

And he has the nerve to chastise the user base because he thinks some people are going to Reddit in his latest rant, and not exclusively posting to Voat. Hell, I never was a Redditor ... to say such BS is an insult to those of us who tried our best to give Voat content, while he ignored the place himself.

I added content daily ... and there were times when I'd spend half my time there doing v/reportspammers write ups along with and others. Then Cynabuns, who cared, went MIA and Putt decided to completely ignore spam. That after saying often it was so damn important to fight it. He never even recognized the effort others were making for him or for that matter even gave Cyna the authority to act, she could just recommend action. He's a control freak, but now one who's given up.

if you paid attention to reddit's /rising, you could spot several posts before they made their way to voat, and if you felt the need for karma or content, post them yourself. the_donald has the unique situation of being cramped with content that belongs spread out over every other default sub, but is not allowed due to the Jewish bullshit. One karma source still in existance is to snipe /new or /rising for claims, memes, or unverified stuff and post it to voat as a litmus test to answer the question "is this accurate?" or if the user base just likes the concept.

Without sniping stuff from reddit, voat would not have 1/2 to 3/4 of its current content. i wonder how long this site can keep its 'small but good shit' feeling to it.

Fuck it, I'd sell my account there at this point if there was anyone still buying them. At one point, a 2 year old account with 5k ccp would have fetched a few coinage
