As long as the business leaders in both parties do not call for action over the TSA, Republicans win this round. It is going to take a while to finish the endgame.

The people on Medicaid are not republicans.

I hope the shutdown shows the nation that some of these 'government' functions should be privatized or kicked back the state level. Although I know, no one is paying that much attention really.

In the deep south, some of the people on Medicaid are hard conservatives. Granted across the USA, the vast amount of people on Medicaid are not Republicans.

I live in a north eastern metropolitan area and work in healthcare. It's disgusting the people we enable with this program.

I have seen somebody on medicaid get staples in their stomach to reduce body fat through a reduction in eating. After the surgery they went to IHOP and busted the staples.

I think the Democrats feel they can lay the blame for the shut down on Trump. They are playing it like the longer the shut down goes on, the more in their favor.

Them that hate Trump (democrat/leftist base) will hate Trump irregardless, so their only real hope is to win over Republican/conservative voters...or fracture the solidarity of those senators.
