Back in December I slowed down on drinking. Lots of long jaunts for the holidays. Maybe I've been at it too long. The will to get "truly drunk" seems to have left me. I'm still drinking but it seems I just stop. The goal is gone. No longer is there an endpoint. I don't need it anymore I guess.

Probably. Time will tell. Blackout drinking on occasion has been my blow off valve for years w/ all the compartmentalization. I just don't have the will to binge lately anymore.

Your liver will thank you if nothing else.

Good for you man. Hopefully it stays that way. Seen more lives ruined by alcohol than anything else.

Yeah it gets harder with age. I used to be able to drown misery in Mickey's and get up just fine the next day, no longer.

It's called "No longer feeling the need to prove how tough you are."
You are acting like an adult. Congratulations!
