Well I as the admin actively discourage it’s use as a I disagree button. However poal does have something voat doesnt. Check the warrant canary sub/link and you will see what I am talking about. I suppose I don’t have a hard or fast rule that stops people from using it that way but I would like to think if I’m active an encourage discussion rather than down voting it’ll at least somewhat influence the users behavior.

Well I suppose as I respect your opinion, do you have any suggestions? I had planned on making a rule regarding brigading. I haven't come up with a good wording for it yet but it is on my too do list. As far as user behavior goes I do care about free speech. I believe without it the west falls. So I would like to think I can encourage the user base to embrace it and encourage it even if it is speech you disagree with. I guess I'm still hoping the free market of ideas will save the world so to speak.
Youre in charge. You figure it out. You do not want me to get involved. I have been in charge of web communities bigger than voat in the past. Before the internet turned really foul. Once youre numb to the voices of repeated retards screwing things up you stop giving a shit. I will divide your leadership, because I live by the means MY WAY or NO WAY. I will not see thousands of users displaced again, despite seeing it happening repeatedly. I also do not wish to invest my time here if this is just going to be another voat. I am already saving my links and posts from Voat to my computer for its inevitable death. So you need to be different.
So, here is my advice. Figure it all out now while you have the enthusiasm and lack of traffic. Also think heavily about monetization. Youre not in reach of merchandise and the like yet, but unless one of you have money to spare you will struggle eventually. So far I am happy with this place, all the other alternatives do not meet what I want or are just tech or reddit hubs.
