I'm attempting to make a PC gaming build as cheap as possible. I'm basing the needed specs off of the recommended ones for PUBG (PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds). I've got it down to around $700.00 with Windows 10 and a few extras.

If anyone has any recommendations for how I can get the price down furhter, that would be great.

The SSD is staying as Windows 10 can't run without it. The other hard drive is for extra storage and preferably having it run the programs while the SSD runs the OS.

I would save on a slower CPU (6 cores is not really needed for gaming) and use that saved money on a better GPU.

How many cores do you recommend for a gaming PC?

And what speed could I go down to for the processor?

You already chose the cheapest Ryzen there is.

If you want to get a better GPU, you can try your chance on the second hand market. Just make sure you don't go for a GPU that is targeted for cryptocurrency mining, as lots of mining farms are recycling them when the difficulty rises, and if you buy one GPU that has been used 24/7 for mining there's a change that it might not be in good condition (overheating).

I will have to remember for future reference regarding the GPU. Didn't know that was going on with old crypto graphics cards or that they were used for that

4 cores with at least 2.4GHz you'd be fine with most everything gaming related (since most games just hit the GPU and the CPU is mostly for orchestration)
