Something is amiss with the weather in NorCal. Been here about twenty years so I'd know. Past ten summers there was always 'Dog Days' (heatwave) starting mid to late July, til late August or mid September. None this year. That portable air conditioner I got in early summer saw zero action. Rainy season always started mid to late October. Not one damn Halloween since I got here was not at least drizzling, and most were in a downpour. Not this year. Still not cold either....feels more like September than mid-November, although the smoke may have something to do with that. Something is going on, whether you mark it down as 'climate change', weather mod, HARP, or whatever....something ain't right!
It has to do with solar activity. There have been almost no sun spots recently (more sn spots = more solar activity) so we have been moving into what is called a "solar minimum". I.e. temps are going to slowly drop over the next few years.
It's actually pretty cool, the climate can be very accurately predicted by monitoring sun spots.
Guess I spoke too soon as tonight is kinda cold...had to put on socks, as my toes were getting numb, so maybe cold weather finally arrived. Of course cold weather here just means a long sleeve shirt, zip-up hoodie at worst.
