This logic extrapolates to more types of people. However paternal Love is a strong motivator.
There is nothing to love at that point though. They are a genetic dead end and using more time and resources on them diminishes your chances of having a viable genetic legacy. You know, the whole point of existence
However we as humans(depending on which type we are talking about) in general are not wired to abandon off spring we have few children so we are wired to value them highly even if they are broken. Modern society has allowed this to be taken to and extreme nature never intended. Example an autistic kid with out modern society would just have died and parental choice to abandon the offspring would never have been needed.
Well, about the whole point of existence, I can agree in evolutionary terms, but Isaac Newton never married, and he done a lot of his existence.
Autism also gives extra mental abilities (such as maths, creativity...). It is not a trait that can be considered necessary on an evolutionary stand point.
