Andrew Jackson destroyed the Cherokee nation. That's just a fact. He dispossessed them of their lands and drove them to the reservations in the middle of winter. Many died on the trail. My Great Great Grandmother survived as an infant. In spite of this she married an Irish immigrant and had several children. When he died she married another Irish immigrant. When her daughter, (my great grandmother) came of age she married him off to an Irish traveling musician who brought her nothing but his alcoholism and nasty temper.
