This is one of the 'conspiracy' theories out there. I have seen evidence but who really knows? Could this be something else they are hiding?

EDIT: Holy Gods! There is a recorded time when the Moon wasn’t in our sky, and we’re not taught this!

...

I was about to write that this theory makes no sense.

But as I thought about it more, it makes a lot of sense.

The Moon May have formed as a separate minor planet. We know there was some planet between Mars and Jupiter, but for some unknown reason, it broke up. What if that planet breaking up caused the Moon to change its orbit and then get trapped by Earth’s gravity? Such an event would easily be seen coming and would have a massive affect on the Earth. Such an event literally could have caused the floods we know happened.

But if something like this happened, and ancient cultures knew to prepare for it, AND the stories of the floods got successfully passed down, then why wouldn’t a story about the Moon suddenly appearing in the sky be passed down as well?

It makes a lot of sense, but why wouldn’t we have heard this before?

I'm not sure why but this suggests a theory of sorts. Kinda makes sense though if you think about it. Everything would be buried or burned from the event.

The ones living underground would hopefully be able to get out and repopulate. From there we could hope for another 20-30k years and probably returns orbit again and this time makes further damage.

With that history is lost and no evidence of the event except for the Earth's crust from the impact and debris. But to visualize that, not sure where to even begin.

'Democretus and Anaxagoras mention that there was a time when no moon could be seen in the night skies'

Damn!
