They brilliantly (and dishonestly) found a way to blame him for both.
According to them Trump did nothing and hundreds of thousands of people died. And they can STILL blame him for the lockdowns because hisinaction is what "forced" states to lockdown. It's not their fault - it's Trump's! The covid deaths are on him, they argue, AND the results of the lockdowns, the suicides, the lost businesses, all of it.
Now, we know locking down wasn't his idea.
Yet he absolutely should have intervened to stop rogue governors from effectively burning the constitution and illegally violating the rights of their citizens. Leeches like Whitmer should have been arrested. What they did was ILLEGAL. Exec. branch did NOTHING. Barely even scolded them.
He has emergency powers for situations like this and sat on them.
