A kip up is when you leap to a standing position from lying flat on your back. It was taught in my high school gym class in the 80s.

Had no clue, that is awesome. The state of americans considering this was once taught in gym? Geez.
Apparently it's not even that hard, I could never do one, but i only tried a handful of times. Half my class was able to do it in about 10 mins of practice. Even a chubby chick can do it.
