I don’t believe ‘forced anything brings contempt’.

Some people don’t know what they need. They need to be forced into behavior that is useful to them.

If we forced drug users on the streets into special homes where they could detox and find themselves, they would not be brought to contempt.

They would be thankful.

Agree on the other parts. Totally.
