Overheard a coworker and a customer talking about covid yesterday. The customer works for a delivery company and he said that he's been instructed to write down the names of anyone who comes to the door without a mask. In the case anyone got sick, the company could trace it back to whoever the driver was in contact with.

The narrative is that masks don't prevent you from getting sick, but they keep you from spreading it to other people if you do get sick. The paranoia is amplified by the idea that you can be contagious and asymptomatic.

OH, so the masks are one way only.

I'm not afraid of the china virus, or sick, will continue to be my response to anyone who bothers me about masks.
