Any policy based on selective enforcement and not principle always bleeds over. The original income tax was supposed to be a 10% tax on the capital gains of the most wealthy. Now anyone above the threshold of poverty is near 30% on all income.
The government needs the taxes mainly for social programs because a good chunk of the population is basically retarded. You can reduce the number of retards only by selective breeding. We either do the selection artificially and humanly now or nature will take care of it in the not so distant future. The latter won't be pretty.
The govt cares about the social programs because they create dependence. They could give a fuck about any individual that "benefits" from them. I understand an elimination of all social programs will have immediate consequences that most people would shudder at. But why arent we equally appalled at the "humane" elimination of more victims than 9/11 every single day? Either human life matters or it does not. If 9/11 was a tragedy we are intentionally repeating an equivalent tragedy daily.
