Well I trust the coalition that made this happen, their creed, and the accuracy they attempted to put into this translation.. why make a Bible that hides what Jesus is trying to teach? I don't fully grasp your comment lol.
From John 10 YLT
Pay attention to 34. Was he telling the truth or just trying to get out of being killed? Jesus claims we are all his equal here. He clearly equated himself and the rest of the people.
30 I and the Father are one.
31 Therefore, again, did the Jews take up stones that they may stone him
32 Jesus answered them, `Many good works did I shew you from my Father; because of which work of them do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, `For a good work we do not stone thee, but for evil speaking, and because thou, being a man, dost make thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, `Is it not having been written in your law: I said, ye are gods?
35 if them he did call gods unto whom the word of God came, (and the Writing is not able to be broken,)
36 of him whom the Father did sanctify, and send to the world, do ye say -- Thou speakest evil, because I said, Son of God I am?
Where is this law he is talking about?
Psalm 82:6
A Psalm of Asaph. God hath stood in the company of God, In the midst God doth judge.
2 Till when do ye judge perversely? And the face of the wicked lift up? Selah.
3 Judge ye the weak and fatherless, The afflicted and the poor declare righteous.
4 Let the weak and needy escape, From the hand of the wicked deliver them.
5 They knew not, nor do they understand, In darkness they walk habitually, Moved are all the foundations of earth.
6 I -- I have said, `Gods ye [are], And sons of the Most High -- all of you,
7 But as man ye die, and as one of the heads ye fall,
8 Rise, O God, judge the earth, For Thou hast inheritance among all the nations!
Now I know what you are thinking and it is my view that you are thinking that because of the lifelong conditioning. But there it is! Either Jesus was telling the truth or he wasn't. KJV and most others make Jesus say he is THE son of god and he didn't say that. He said A son of god. If you research this you will find the same.
John 10: 30-36---I and the Father are one.” 31. Therefore, again, the Jews took up stones that they may stone Him; 32. Jesus answered them, “I showed you many good works from My Father; because of which work of them do you stone Me?” 33. The Jews answered Him, saying, “We do not stone You for a good work, but for slander, and because You, being a man, make Yourself God.” 34. Jesus answered them, “Is it not having been written in your law: I said, you are gods? 35. If He called them gods to whom the word of God came (and the Writing is not able to be broken), 36. of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, do you say—You slander, because I said, I am [the] Son of God?
Psalm 82---A PSALM OF ASAPH. God has stood in the congregation of God, || He judges among the gods. 2. Until when do you judge perversely? And lift up the face of the wicked? Selah. 3. Judge the weak and fatherless, || Declare the afflicted and the poor righteous. 4. Let the weak and needy escape, || Deliver them from the hand of the wicked. 5. They did not know, nor do they understand, || They habitually walk in darkness, || All the foundations of earth are moved. 6. I have said, “You [are] gods, || And sons of the Most High—all of you, 7. But you die as man, and you fall as one of the heads.” 8. Rise, O God, judge the earth, || For You have inheritance among all the nations!
(Added those for comparison purposes)
Fantastic! See in your version in John 10: 36 where it says "You slander, because I said, I am [the] Son of God?"
The word [the] is an interpolation. The Greek ( oldest we know of ) does not say "the son of god" it says "a son of god".
Some bibles no longer let the reader know where they guessed with italics or [ brackets ] Old KJV have the word "the" in italics but at some point they stopped doing that so everyone thinks Jesus is the only son of god.
Funny, Jesus said something about people doing greater things than him, told some guys on a boat to calm down about the weather, showed them how to calm the water and wind and then told them they could have done it if they had faith they could. So many other examples but if I keep going it will look like preaching and nobody wants that.
That is the new LSV I put up to compare... I am still confused by the teaching I guess.. we are gods but fall as man, or are just the same as Jesus, all children of God? I'm genuinely curious and wonderfully confused :)
First, this is my opinion based on my own research over 10 years. Second, I have never found a way to explain it in a short way and in a short time. I will try but...
The way I see it is this - Nothing exist but god. Everything we see as things are a part of god. That includes people. I'm not saying someone has authority over anyone else or that we are all omnipotent and can turn water to wine. Not the case, clearly. Its in another way but could lead a person to have the ability to do those things.
To explain a lot with as few words as possible, imagine you are god before the universe. What would you do? Anything you like I imagine. After a while, you would get bored. After all, you are all knowing and see how everything ends and would come to want a surprise.
Well, the only way that can happen is if you are not god or at least, forget you are.
My view of the bible is close to how some in other religions view it. . I don't 100% agree with the quote at the end. When he said that, he missed the part about being human means nothing we do is anything more than nature. This doesn't mean there aren't repercussions of what we do or don't do. So, running around doing those things is nature.
Want proof? The only proof you can get is to see it for yourself. You have to think about it using logic and reason. One area you can see some proof with little effort but some time is learn to meditate. The bible says heaven is in the hearts of men and that to get to it you have to have the mind of a child. This is the exact same thing Buddhism says. Meditation gives you a peek at this wonderland.
