People around me regard me as libertarian - no one (except fucking commies) would ever call me a Nazi or white supremacist. So with how reliable the media and government have been recently, if some sketchy govt. website goes up putting me on a list, most of my friends (and all of my family) are going to say "Nah we know that guy, he's good people." It will backfire. And as you pointed out - SO MANY VETS and current military would be on that list it's retarded. But then again, I think China's angle is revolution or civil war, so... that would certainly get the ball rolling to label a bunch of the military as terrorists/enemies of the state and try to take their guns.
