If the average proll is like my mom, they will willingly give the guns into the local police and then decry how good a deed they did. I think the ATF will just use the BLM(Bureau of land manageement) to make shooting on BLM illegal, and eventually it will become such a pain in the ass to own a gun, that they will be willingly removed from the public sphere. Think California banning gun shaped waffles with the strictest felony charge, but even worst than that.
