What does he sell? Bill gates sold Microsoft computers, damn near one in every household, steve jobs sold pocket tech, half the idiots you knew were raving about their I-toy, musk though? I dont know anyone who owns anything from tesla, spacex isnt giving billionaires tours of the moon or luxury space cruises, so what is he selling? Ideas dont earn money, they sure as hell can attract it though, so who is bankrolling him to steer his inventions in their favour? There are very few ways to get that much money.
Also spacex pulls plenty of money. There are weekly launches and each payload to the ISS or satellite launch helps. Not sure if spacex is red or black but does have sales.
Same with tesla. Model S is waiting list only its so popular and you see them all the time in upscale neighborhoods.
He created paypal. If you buy anything online chances are you have contributed to his net worth

From what I can tell, he sells stock. I don't know why they even bother with cars anymore, they should shut down all the factories and just start selling stock.
Subsidies. For his company, and the people who partake of whatever the hell he ever does sell.
Those spineless puppet politicians aren't giving him and his fake products subsidies without permission from the oligarch cartel.
