But isn't Telegram a social media app? People can make posts and view posts from other people, so that's what it looks like. Forgive my Boomer-tier ignorance, I'm trying to catch up.

there is channels. they are like group chats. thousands of people can join if the creatr decides.

its not a public broadcast like facebook or twitter though. only the invited can see the channel.

Telegram looks cool. Its seems like the posts are a mix of Twitter and Facebook that are harder to take down for some reason?

Telegram still has stuff backed up somewhere so you can get your messages from any device you sign into.

But it's also saved on your phone and at it's core is a messaging app. So to take telegram down would be like taking all text messaging down.

It's also open source. So if anyone trys to take it down someone else can take all the code and post it under a different name.
