I had to quit vaping concentrates altogether after contracting a very nasty lung infection that took me out for almost four months. Was vaping concentrates for about 3 years before it finally caught up to me.
CT scan showed ground glass opacities in my hilar lymph nodes, and general inflammation of lung tissues. Lost 5% of my lung-function capacity. Stopped all inhalation of anything for 45 days while letting my system fight shit off and clear itself out.
Returned to vaping plant matter once I started feeling much better.
Six month follow-up CT scan showed me as COMPLETELY CLEARED UP, and SPo2 levels and lung function was back at 100%
So yeah, oil-based concentrates, when used for vaping - at the very least - anecdotally cause problems after prolonged usage. Not the case when using 100% natural plant products below combustion levels.
Damn, that sounds terrible. What kind of symptoms did you start showing that made you seek medical help? What device did you use for vaping? How many dabs a day did you do?
I run 8-10 miles a week and haven't noticed any respiratory changes, but I only vape 2-3 times a day through an 18" bong. You got me all worried now, maybe I'll just stick to edibles.
What kind of symptoms did you start showing that made you seek medical help?
Chronic fatigue, complete loss of appetite, massive weight loss, high fever that was not possible to get under control, uncontrolled sweating.
Was using the portable e-vape oil-based products so I could vape while on-the-go.
Never developed trouble smoking plant products through a bong, and even less issues vaping real herb via mouthpiece/hose/wand.
As mentioned, I'm fully recovered, and tested 100% clean on pulmonary function after switching back to dry-vaping herb via mouthpiece/hose/wand.
EDIT: As for "dabs per day" (inhalations) I can only answer "too many to reliably count", but probably approaching 100+ per day.
Good lord, that's awful. I've always been wary of the vape capsules and the vape juice. I'm glad to hear that your lungs are functioning back to normal.
I usually used a hot press(rosin tech) to extract the thc from the flower. I never bought any wax from a non dispensary unless as a last resort due to the method of extraction they use to maximize the thc output being bho which, if you know, is butane. They hardly ever use the second step of a hot plate vacuum.
I'm not completely against marijuana, as it is a natural growing plant. Yes, we've bred it to be stronger in the psychedelic property of thc, but it's still a naturally occurring plant.
Which leads me to this, the jew hates nature and it just makes sense as to why it's still illegal through federal law. They perverse nature. So I believe there's more than meets the eye to this wonder of a plant. Quite possibly something they don't want us to know.
