And think about how visionary he must have been to predict it so clearly. The biggest mindfuck for me was looking at the racial demographics of the US back then, it seems like a dream come true compared to what we have now, but the world gone to shit he portrays is so perfectly modern. Even though the book was written years before I was even born, and Pierce lived in a different world (demographics wise), the hellscape he imagined is the only world I've ever known and he nailed it. It's just fucking weird and it blows my mind. Are there any more modern books that are predicting the future that I may want to read? Other than 1984 that is.
