It's such a simplified explanation. Do people really think we would have lost so many people over a single issue? Just like the American Revolution and the Texas Revolution, it was a build up of events that led to it, but it's easier to put in school textbooks that it was Northern Saints vs Evil Southern Racists, the good guys won (they always do!!), the end.

Yep, exactly. If people actually read books about it instead of parroting what they hear from MSM and their Communist government controlled schools, they'd know full well it had nothing to do with slavery.
