The aggressor in that war was the Union led by the tyrant Lincoln. It was a tragedy, but you are blaming the wrong side. Not to mention the war had very little to do with slavery, though it was used as an excuse on both sides (for legalistic reasons by the South and for supposedly moral ones by the North).
If you really review the historical documents, though, you'll find the basic causes of the war were mostly economic with a fair bit of basic political philosophy thrown in. It boiled down to a renewal of the arguments between the Federalists and the Anti-Federalists in the lead up to the adoption of the Constitution 70 odd years before.
