I grudgingly spare a thought for moderator Chris Wallace, who lost control of an unhinged President Trump early and often.

.

Watching a sitting U.S. president, bluster, bully, name-call, misdirect, interrupt and lie his way through a debate with so much hanging in the balance—much of which, like the under-managed pandemic, happened on his watch—was a new low in political discourse.

.

When asked to disavow white supremacy by Wallace; specifically, if he would be “willing tonight to condemn white supremacists and militia groups and say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these cities as we saw in Kenosha and we’ve seen in Portland?” he waffled, then tried to blame Antifa.

voter intimidation, claims of voter fraud, a president who refuses to accept the result of a democratic election, the abolition of political asylum, the police killing innocent people, the highest incarceration rate in the world, the highest coronavirus numbers in the world

Truth is dead.

Third World doesn't mean poor, it means sided with nobody during the cold war.

I mean technically that's what it means. Colloquially it has a different meaning. Its hard to think of China now as "Third World" although at one time they tried to lead it.

That's interesting. This morning when I was pouring a cup of coffee, I literally had the exact thought, 'Truth is dead.'

Don't get synchronous with me, ARM. You aren't ready to go G I G A.

The context was thinking about hyperreality. I exchanged a few words with King about it the other evening. As I was pouring my coffee I heard someone on the news saying, "Could you imagine what would have happened yesterday had all those protestors been African American?"

The gaslighting is unbelievable. We just went through six months of BLM/Antifa protests that went - besides in some small pockets - completely unopposed by law enforcement in most major cities. They weren't touched.

It made me think about virtual reality and simulation, and that so many people, in their heads, are living in a world that doesn't exist. I'm not speaking about some really strong Idealist metaphysics, but moreso I'm saying that two human minds both having relatively similar experiences of the same place in the world are capable of living with such polar opposite ideas about the truth. I can't understand how anyone is able to live in a version of the same world as I do, but where, "Imagine if they'd been non-white" (re: the protestors) invokes anything but the response, "I don't have to imagine. We saw what happened for six months."

Then I saw tweets posted of people echoing the same idea, that if these protestors hadn't been white, there would have been a fascist battalion of police in riot gear positioned tactically around the the capitol building, spread out with their rifles at the ready and waiting anxiously to mow down any group of black people that got close. What fucking world are you living in? Capitol police went through the crowd of Trump supporters last night literally just punching people and upending them over barriers. I watched one officer push an innocent (white) woman to the ground and scream at her to get up. When she tried, another officer threw her back on the ground. White people are in the process of being dehumanized, and there are a lot of people in this country that will still say, "Could you imagine, I mean...could you just imagine if they'd been black!?"

It makes me realize we can't have a nation if we don't agree on what truth is. I don't mean in some heady sense. A nation can survive if they still argue over the ontology of numbers. I mean truth in the sense in which two people can look at basically identical events in the world and agree about the basic facts and counterfactuals.

Synchronicity lives!

A nation can survive if they still argue over the ontology of numbers.

Up against the wall!

I mean truth in the sense in which two people can look at basically identical events in the world and agree about the basic facts and counterfactuals.

Says the guy who doesn't even believe in Reptilians.

I have been thinking similarly of late. I assume its worse in Canada. Everyone, co-workers, bosses, friends, daily, strangers - are all in agreement on the same talking points. There is so much gaslighting now, so much condescension, such a widespread dearth of epistemological and logical training, that everyone just accepts the same narrative and spouts it off. This woman I work with has been pointing to white privilege and its relation to what happened yesterday. She's been saying the same thing all day, Chiro: "imagine if they'd been black!" - totally forgetting about what literally was allowed to happen earlier this year when thecoerprators were black.

I live thousands of miles away from you. In one evening, they've convinced those around me as much as those around you of the same narrative. Their minds are under control.

Logic is about what conclusions follow from what premises, not what conclusions are true. The media controls what premises can be known / held. The rest follows.

I told you! This is more than people convincing others in different locales. It is a singular new consciousness feeding back out of digital space into the biological world!

That's the real singularity, Kurzweil.

It's happening at the speed of thought. One organism being born. This is A.I., except that it isn't artificial but instead a new species transcending into an entirely new space, the conscious machine.

Wallace is a closet commie.
