That's not what the SOD actually says though, that sentence is the authors own opinion on the article he's writing, the SOD actually states he 'discussed it with pence.

Stop conflating 'we had a discussion' and assumimg it means 'pence authorised the NG callout' bc thats only what the author typed, especially when trumps actuaul press secretary posted 'at pres trumps direction ... the NG in DC blah blah' ...
