Neoliberalism is part of the problem. It embraces and encourages illegal immigration, immigration visas, and offshoring, and reducing tariffs to further empower offshoring. Without a government to trust bust, competition dies and companies turn from competition to cooperation, forming oligopolies to boost their own profits more.
