Nobody says that it's perfect, but it is a machine representation of the literal function of synapses, which is the function of all living brains.

This is nothing: I remember maybe 20 years ago reading about animal brains linked to machines to control (two way), or even tap into vision. A year ago Elon Musk announced the ability of a neural connection. It's coming folks -- human mind to machine links.
