Handmade dovetailed furniture is more valuable than ikea made shit.
Is it not labor that makes the item valuable?
No. It is desire for the product that determines it's value. Handmade dovetail furniture is BETTER MADE than IKEA shit. This is true. However, you could work a hundred hours on a finely crafted artisan quality piece of furniture; you could command a price that you feel is worthy of the labor you put into it and reasonable enough for the customer; and it doesn't mean shit if no one has the desire for the product.
I see what you’re saying. I agree demand is a factor of a price. I can’t agree human labor is also not one.
Marx general argument is that poor people don’t use their collective power enough. Doesn’t make sense why they don’t.
I agree that labor absolutely is a component for price setting and value. Where I disagree with Marx is his view that labor is more or less the be all end all to determining value.
I agree that poor don't use their collective power enough. Of course, where I disengage from Marx is his methodology.
