How do you go about refusing a nurse? I'm in Canada. Last time I went in there I decided I could never go back unless it's guaranteed I don't survive. I have a shoulder injury currently that I'm basically willing to die with.
In the USA you have a right to refuse any medical treatment or procedure you want. If you tell a nurse or paramedic or whomever that you don't want and IV and they do they procedure without your consent then you can follow up with legal action. It doesn't even matter if it's life saving, so long as you're awake and within your right mind you can refuse anything.
That's a sweet level of freedom.. In Canada they can take away any 'right' in case there was a 'danger' to the greater good. Whoever makes up the greater good has control over our freedom.
