Opinions do vary, understandably. I don't agree with your view of it but that's absolutely OK. One movie I thought was beautifully shot and had fantastic effects was Avatar BUT, as soon as you put any thought into it, it breaks down terribly. That is a beautifully shitty movie. That movie also has it legions of fans that think it's the best movie ever put to film. I don't agree with them but that's OK too.
I didn't get that feeling from Fury Road. I wasn't bugged by stupid things during it. Unlike Avatar, there wasn't any glaring ridiculousness that took away from the enjoyment of the movie.
Honest question: What specifically would you have done differently with Fury Road had you directed it? I think I would have cast somebody else as Furiosa. Also would have been good to get Mel back in the role as an older Max. Maybe even incorporate Tom as a character in it. Also would have liked for them to include the Bullet farm and Gastown into the it.
