Nurses aren't any more likely to be competent in science than a plumber. I have yet to meet an incompetent plumber though.

Plumbers know enough science to know that water runs downhill.

Nurses only know that if a doctor tells them.

Which is quite a pity because the nursing program in my school is insanely competitive that getting all As is the bare minimum needed just to be considered.
