Text from the article:

The Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center told WRGT that crews responded to the child’s home around 7 p.m. after a man called 911 to report that he awoke to find a dog lying on top of his baby.

The breed of dog involved in the incident remains unclear, though neighbor Lonnie Dapier described it as “big” and said the animal had gotten out of the family’s house before.

“God bless that child and I just hope they get that dog taken care of one way or the other so it won't injure anyone else," Dapier told WRGT.

Why wasn't the baby being supervised? Every parent knows you can't leave a baby alone unless it's in the safety of its crib, so were the parents drunk or drugged and forgot to check on their baby? Maybe the dog was being protective of the baby. However, why would they leave the baby lying somewhere the dog could get to her? Maybe the baby died some other way and the dog is the parent's scapegoat?

What is wrong with people that they can't take responsibility for their own mistakes??? They have to blame it on a dog. Society is full of narcissists and sociopaths who will never take responsibility for their own actions. It's always someone or something else's fault. RIP little baby.

In this case wholeheartedly agree. You leave a loaded firearm where a toddler has access to it? It aint the toddlers fault. It's the inbred mongoloid retard who fell out of some lot lizards rancid womb at a Galveston truck stop that also happens to be that poor childs father.

I miss flying j in galveston

Saying its not the toddler's fault is out of band to OP's defense of the dog. You'd be on his track saying it ain't the gun's fault.
Of course parents are responsible parties in either scenario.
Fine to blame the parents, penalize them, and destroy the gun.

Yeah that's fine, you put dangerous animals down but it doesn't sound like there was any malice on the part of the dog. Probably just curled up against a body b/c that's how dog packs will sleep for warmth. Even though I feel the dog only did what was natural to a dog i'd still have to put the animal down b/c you have no other way of knowing how else it's owner has neglected his responsibilities. It's a better safe than sorry principle to put the dog down, just a shame we can't do that w/ the degenerate shitbag parent. There are some mistakes that are rightly demonized b/c they shouldn't be allowed to happen.

New Years Eve, wakes up at 7pm? to find dog on top of baby?

That sounds very suspicious. Dogs are generally very protective over babies and vulnerable people.

Exactly. I'm thinking the parent fell asleep and rolled on top of the baby and is blaming the poor dog.
