I love fireworks, but I bring em up the mountains and wake up the neighbors there as opposed to the city.
The one guy who lives there year round said "you assholes lit one or two every hour of the night" we only had a pack of 12 or so. So we had to make them last during our little party

The types he makes are homemade, but they're usually a lot quieter. You can make all types with powder that smoke/light into different colors. My favorite is a cap gun he modifier to shoot out little firework bullets. It's like a mini roman candle.
