I've gotten the feeling lately that what we're going to get in the coming years is the reversal of what we had with Trump. In 2016, they gave the conservatives their Trump presidency, and it remained contested for the duration of his term.

In 2020, they're going to give liberals their Biden presidency (or Kamala, it doesn't matter), and despite the fact that the inauguration of Biden will go forward, Trump and his squad are going to continue to contest it long afterward. It will be the mirror image of the last administration, despite the fact it might consist of suits from private parties and ineffectual resistance from this or that senator.

To me, the new body of politics will be the ever-contested ruler. The point? Instability. Demoralization. Lack of unity. The always discomforting feeling that your nation is on the edge, and where tensions never settle. The ever-present focus on the illegitimacy of the system will take away the attention from the fact that the agenda pushes on behind the salacious theater of puppet power.
