Just occurred to me, just breathe of some glass and throw it under a microscope. The coof is supposed to be in the aerosols right? Pics or it didn't happen. That is all.

Right. IIRC the tests detect any virus in the coronavirus family, and there are many more than just COVID-19. SARS, MERS, and thousands of others with no/few/harmless symptoms

I think even beyond that, the test looks for a portion of the virus. It would be like saying a Bible is detected if the phrase "sin no more" is encountered.
