"Myth of authority" is exactly right.

I see this constantly. Our world is being killed by people who think their degree, or the TED Talks they've watched - same thing really - grant them both moral and intellectual superiority.

These people then casually dismiss another person's genuine experience and knowledge as merely anecdotal.

I regularly get told that the things I have learned by doing with my own two hands doesn't count by children who've never done anything other than memorize the bullshit of older people who have never done anything.

We have all these lawyers and accountants, all these academic and scientist, all these low IQ, overly "educated" people who first learned theory and who then confidently wade out into the world and start cutting off all the bits of reality not covered by theory.

Take my last job. I got in an argument with the stupid bitch hired on as my new boss. We were discussing a report. It was a report that I generated from a system she had never seen, let alone used. She told me to just pull one column of numbers from the system. I told her that those numbers were not in the system, that I calculated them myself and added them to the report. She told me that I was wrong, that those numbers were not added by me, and that I didn't know the system. This was a system that I had bought and set up 3 years previously. I was the only employee who had admin rights, the only employee who could set up reports, and the one who ran reports. The report she held in her hand was a report that I created from start to finish. But nope. I was wrong because someone else, who had no knowledge of the report, told her differently, and I was questioning her authority.

If I had a nickel for every time I've dealt with this kind of thing in real life, I'd have enough nickels to fill a sock and beat myself to death with it.
