Fun Fact:

Iodine is naturally occuring in salt, it wasn't until (((Mortin))) Salt company took all the nutrients out and changed natural salt which is roughly 85 percent NaCl to that pure white 99 percent NaCl "table salt," that people started having those problems........ you have been learning 95 year old (((medical establishment propaganda))).

I did not know that and I am surprised that I didn't.

My sea salt has iodine and so does most real meat.

I've been taking an iodine supplement for a few months now and it really does help with the energy levels. Its good to track your food intake for awhile with an app like chronometer to see what you're actually deficient in before adding supplements randomly.

What supplement? What dosage? Got a link to that?

The company is Trace Minerals it's called Ionic Iodine from potassium iodide 225 mcg. Its a liquid you add 3 drops to a glass of water.

I just (last week) bought a (seldom) blue container thing of salt. Iodized. BUT they substituted NON iodized (same brand). Is it being phased out? NEVER had a problem before (hardly ever buy one of those blue salt containers...not a can, because cardboard). Are we being weened or something?

What do you mean, "they substituted"? At the grocery store by me, there is both iodized and non-iodized and I just have to make sure to grab the right one.

You're in the states right? Here in France it has become somewhat difficult to find iodized salt. Only somewhat though, its available but you have to pay close attention to pick the right one. They want you brominated or fluoridated. You're easier to control that way.

Actually, that thread still massively underrates it. Moderate iodine deficiency causes a 10-15 IQ point drop. The IQ difference between Whites and blacks is 15 points.

[–] 1 pt

Yet you could stuff blacks full of iodine and and nothing would change.

Of course, it is the huWhite man's fault for oppressing the blacks by restricting iodine from their diet for millennia, even though blacks predate Whites and Whites were only aware of the black man for the past few centuries; Whitey has only known the negroes in the inner recesses of the Dark Continent for under 2 centuries.

What's I'm trying to say is that the importance of giving your kids iodine cannot be overstated. The IQ gap between Whites with iodine and Whites without iodine is huge.

Any notes on seaweed/kelp?

Those nori snacks seem pretty popular these days.

[–] 0 pt

Funny you should say that. I snack on nori from time to time but it is my understanding that you should not eat too many of them. I forget what is in it but there is something your body doesn't eliminate very quickly that is contained in high amounts.

I just checked, apparently it is the iodine itself.

ha, yeah...

there is always someone saying DON'T eat eggs after someone tells you you Should eat eggs... lol

My understanding is that seaweed quickly absorbs radioactive isotopes so because of Fukishima you should make sure your nori comes from the Atlantic.

Apparently Ireland/Scotland use a lot of it in their cuisine.

Bullshit. 6 eggs a day cooked in butter or bacon grease and I'm 8% body fat.

Yeah, ever since Fukushima I have been very careful to not buy any seafood (or other food) from the Pacific basin.

Fun fact: Iodine is critical for treatment and prevention of radiation sickness. In the event of a nuclear incident, they used to issue iodine tablets as part of the NBC warfare kits, and they were included in the supplies of the civil defense fallout shelters. By flooding your system with clean iodine, it prevents the thyroid from taking up radioactive iodine from the fallout.
It is also a pretty good disinfectant for minor cuts and abrasions, with the side effect of giving your body an essential nutrient rather than poisoning it. Funny how it disappeared from store shelves once big pharma spread it's tentacles throughout the FDA. (It can't be patented, but iodine with unnecessary poisonous additives can). Fortunately, you don't need a large amount of iodine to flood your thyroid, even Betadine contains enough iodine to do the job with just a patch of it placed on your skin, about the size of your palm.
A couple drops of pure iodine in a few ounces of water is way more than your body needs, or your thyroid can even store, and is a waste, you'll just piss it out. That's a strong enough solution to use as a water purification mix. You especially don't need to do that every day, unless you're drinking swamp water. One drop will flood your thyroid, with plenty left over. From there, just eat a bit of kelp or other iodine rich foods at least once a week, and you'll do much better than about 95% of the population. If you can't get those, add one drop of iodine to a pot of healthy stew now and then. (Real iodine, not the poisoned versions like Betadine etc.)
