You're a sick puppy if you want to fool around with metal detectors. Fetishes are getting weirder by the day in Clown World. Get a girlfriend instead. They're much more fun to fool around with and people generally won't think you're a weirdo for it.

ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ME BIGGOT!!

Well he did. His judgment is you're a sick little monkey.

God says you are fucked and there are no metal detectors in Hell.

The best tip is, buy the 'best' detector you can afford. There is no end to the lost coins and rings in old abandon yards. My uncle found an 1800s $5 gold piece.

I do when I have the time. I've found a few things. Civil war bullets, horse shoes, old coins around 1830ish. Lots of trash. Get a decent pin pointer and a nice detector. You want a good shovel. There is an awesome YouTuber names Nugget Noggin and another named Klesh Guitars. Klesh also does gold panning. Nugget is really great though very helpful if you are starting, but klesh has info as well, but has gotten more focused on panning now.

Is a pinpointed really that helpful?

From what I have watched if people using them it really helpful. It will help you get much closer to the item.

Yeah otherwise you will just dig a huge hole not knowing where your find is. It is a lifesaver. It is a must have.

Me and My dad did as a kid, I lived near the beach so we would find change keys and random cheap jewelry. No gold dabloons.

No but I watched the detectorists, it was a pretty good show. Not exciting or anything but it had a kind of charm to it.

My nephews have found some cool old farm remnants at my parent's place.

get a good detector, i use a couple of whites, a goldbug and a spectrum xlt for artifacts. have found several hundred coins, rings, baubles and a ton of trash. nothinng worth much, but it's a lot of fun. a pinpointer (whites} really helps when sifting pay dirt

Whites folded up and sold out to Garrett. Don’t know what Garrett’s intentions are with it in the future. In highly mineralized ground like say AZ or NV I’ve always had difficulty operating a White’s detector. My preference nowadays are the Minelab machines, the GM 1000 for nuggets and the Equinox 800 for coin, relic and beach. Also have a Garrett ATX pulse induction machine. It’s comparable to Minelab’s SDC 2300, but much heavier. I’d rather have the SDC, but the price I got the used one time ATX was just too good.

Yes, I made one myself lately, but it doesn't work...

I used to love going out with mine. Its been a while. I've found some cool shit. Money, jewelry, etc.

I need. To get one to look for metal in logs. I am building a sawmill. When it gets done I will have metal in logs to worry about.
