The funny thing about your Three's Company quip is that you assume that 1.) Jack owns a cellphone, 2.) carries it with him at all times like a binky and 3.) has a Pavlovian response to any attempt to contact him through it. What does that say about the "modern" man? Cell phones are a tool like any other, but now their main purpose is to server as an electronic leash and a pacifier. I refuse the chains, so I stopped carrying one despite the usefulness, and I can amuse myself in more productive ways.
