“Covitz” is literally exactly every hallmark of a disease you would make up if you were trying to get people to think there was a new disease: extremely subjective, generalized and innumerable symptoms, manifests as lung disease on imaging, not well-described or distinctive at all, has some kind of bullshit incubation period to explain why positive people aren’t sick, only really affects old people who are sick anyway, etc....

Its got several distince hallmarks which are specific. An unusual ARDS lung pathology, not pneumonia, resulting in very poor oxygenation. Extreme thrombosis. Viral loads many orders of magnitude higher than the flu.

Many people argue that you can find these symptoms in some flu cases too. The real difference can be shown in a distinct gene expression (the active parts of the DNA in infected cells). The distinct gene expression is caused by the ability of SARS-CoV-2 to dampen the defense mechanism of the infected cells, and the signaling to other cells. Other viruses also send their cargo into the nucleus, but SARS-CoV-2 is much more effective in doing this. That's why Ivermectin is so important as treatment, it blocks the transfer of viral material into the nucleus.
