While I agree she was always my preference as a kid, as an adult I have always felt sorry for the actress who played Ginger. She wanted to do serious drama. She didn't want to take the part, but was basically forced by her agent. She did a pretty good job at playing the part because she was a serious actress. And her career then went nowhere because she was typecast as Ginger.
That said, she was too full of herself and acted like a superior bitch. So she probably wouldn't have had a successful happy, life anyway.
