It's a lie, there's no such thing as free shipping. Local buyers indirectly pay for distant buyers' shipping. It hurts communities by discouraging local commerce. eBay, Amazon, etc. urge their sellers to offer free shipping because of this.

9 times out of ten if you look at a products multiple shipping options you will see the same thing for sale from a more honest seller that is a cheaper product price but has shipping and it ends up being the same price

I will always buy from that person

That's a good practice, I will even pay extra to an independent seller just so Bezos doesn't get my money.
