After seven months on pregnancy forums, I’ve determined this is a big fat lie.

Women today are taking all kinds of shit during pregnancy. Heartburn meds, extra vaccinations, popping Tylenol like it’s candy, high dose progesterone supplements. Oh, and that doesn’t include all the drugs that are taken these days to just get pregnant, like the massive amounts of hormones you use during IVF or IUI treatments, or Clomid to increase ovulation. Drinking during pregnancy is becoming more acceptable (because one bitch wrote a book), and apparently smoking weed your entire pregnancy is no big deal either. Most psychiatric drugs are cleared for use during pregnancy as well.

This is on top of all the birth control, drinking, bad eating habits, obesity, and anxiety meds women are on for most of their lives.

But no, nothing in the modern world causes autism. You constantly freaking out about your mother in law’s innocent bullshit, or your high stress job, or your advanced maternal age, won’t affect your baby at all. Nothing causes problems!

I agree with this.

It will be interesting to see what, and how, a basic respect for pattern recognition will be re-instituted. Because it’ll have to be at some point.

I don't think this will happen. Not until there is a complete collapse and a return to chaos, from which order might rise again. But not in our lifetimes.

The problem is that you cannot reason with people who have decided to reject reason.

Very few people ever snap out of it. Because it requires seeing something truly shocking, to force you to reevaluate your core beliefs, and the system they believe in teaches them to reject and avoid all things that might shock them (like all successful cults). Most of them are too far gone to be saved. And they have full control of the education of our youth, which they will never give up peacefully, and which is the reason things have been getting worse so quickly, and will continue to do so.

There are ways to deal with this. But they are ugly. And they require many people, who are all on board with doing them anyway. Which we don't have. And, sadly, I don't think we'll have enough before it is too late.

Yep. We're the generation of decay and decadence. We will never see the light at the end of the tunnel, nor will our children and maybe not our grandchildren, we have barely entered it. Sad lives we'll live, very dark days for western civ ahead.
