Amazon needs to be broken up. I canceled my account last year.
Many things can be ordered direct from the manufacturer. Shop local whenever you can.
I mailed two packages ten days ago. Both said "out for delivery" on December 24. Only one arrived at it's location today, and it only went about 300 miles. No idea when the other will get there.
My guess is the shippers don't get paid for an Amazon delivery until they have completion of delivery, whereas the mailed package was paid in advance, so no rush to get it there.
I have Amazon delivery three days to near Northern Ontario. I've been waiting more than three months for the government to get me my new driver's license.
About three weeks ago, I ordered some priority boxes and tape from the post office, these are the ones they'll send you for free so you can ship stuff. Still have not received them. Today, I had two packages "delivered" that weren't there, but yet no one on my street got any mail (the carriers ignore my street because it's a half route and they're mad they have to do it.)
But yes, amazon stuff shows up right away. Uncle Jeff is paying lots of money to make sure his shit gets delivered.
The USPS give Amazon price breaks so this is another example of massive corruption in the gov't, this time at high levels of the USPS.
Packages this year from anywhere else by the USPS have been at third world levels of delivery and the USPS needs to be ended and investigated.
I know, it's been abysmal this year, and that's saying something. It's normally pretty bad in my area, but I've taken to just ordering what I can from Amazon (hate to do that all the time) and having it put in one of their delivery lockers.
