infinite scroll

Have fun with your system memory.

I have 32gb so I can but still don't use infinite scrolls because it's obnoxious.

If I want to remember a thread;

oh it was in the middle of the page 2 or 3 pages ago.

Rather than;

hurrrr mouse wheel goes brrrrrrrrrrrr

I like you. You make me laugh.

Sure except 'next' and 'previous' are laggy as fuck with infinite scroll on anything.

Just tested it. Walked away and let the shit scroll. Came back and I was thousands of posts down. Did a search for 'jew' and there's only a tiny bit of perceptible lag in clicking back or next. I also noticed that chrome will build up past 2gb of used memory and then scale back, so it's never really over 1500MB when idling, it only climbs when you're actively scrolling down quickly and loading new posts.

Maybe you're using some heavy script blocker or something

I only put up with that ONCE per session. After it happens, I 'right click' the next article I want to read, select open in new window, then read it. When done, I exit the window and return to the previous window, with all the articles still in place.

This happens to me too

It’s worse for me; it goes to posts I was in days ago

On desktop the middle mouse button opens link in new window or tab, depending on browser settings.

On mobile devices with no mouse, long press on link and open in new window or tab from the menu.

Close window or tab when done.

Disable infinite scroll.

Ninja Edit: also if you stay in a post to long it will get a little lost.

Wow. I hate infinite scroll so much I forgot that was even an option. OP's post was a bit confusing at first.

Removing infinity scroll makes a big difference
