I am in deep red Texas and everyone wears masks. I have a hard time believing there are pockets of people who don’t wear masks. Rural, red as a pepper Texas and masks masks masks everywhere.
And yes, I do have confrontations almost every time. Usually fairly polite but I’ve only been able to walk into a store get what I want to walk back out without a problem maybe twice or three times.
Even in Texas!!!!
Was born there, grew up pullin water mocasins out of my toenails. Texas hasn't been red enough since the late 80s.
Very few people wear them in rural Kansas. Local laws in a few faggot towns, but the town 30 miles away with a fed prison doesn't wear them at all. Major ish city 60 miles away they are pretty much universal but most places still won't harass you there even though they technically have a fine in county law.
If you are in a masks only area you are too close to a major population center. Get rural. Guarantee you small town texas doesn't give a shit about masks. And they're also probably the ones that would surprise you if you started talking about uppity negroes or jews in power.
I live in a pretty small town. That's why I'm so disappointed. I could go more rural I suppose. Probably should. I see Trump hats wearing masks here. Sad.
Yeah, there are some small town type areas where they do the mask bullshit, but others where they don't. Really a function of whether they aspire to be "suburban" or if they are "rural with city water". Have to research an area fairly deep to figure out which is which but once you do the difference is clear.
Everybody thinks the trump thing was/is the dividing line, but where I'm from Trump approached us from the left, not from the far right. The far right here is the old boys in the corner of the cafe talking about how the TV and banks are full of jews, and sportball full of niggers.
I hear parts of Florida are mask free. But yeah... Its hard to live mask free these days. Its definitely gotten worse.
Confrontations with employees or other people mostly?
Mix. Usually politely asked to put one on. No drama or anything. I'll leave if they (store, not customer) insist. I will not wear one.
Yep, if they don't want my business they can fuck off. Never had a single person give me a look or say anything though. I can't imagine I would handle being lectured well.
Texas is ate up with decent people just wanting to do right (without having to think for themselves). It's pretty sad.
I'll be the only unmasked person in a Buccees. And that's like 7,500 people
What area? Last time I was out around Canton and Tyler, about a month ago, hardly any one was wearing them.
