Speak your mind regardless of the offense it causes, and be the raw unfiltered you. If your family loves you, they'll deal with it. This isn't larping, it's the honest truth. None of my family shares my views but I openly espouse them regardless and I've gotten used to the "aww shit here he goes...." eye rolling and glances they give each other, but it doesn't stop me, and I'm always sure to compliment everyone and tell them how much I love them when I'm there.
It's hard to hate a guy who praises your cooking and takes great interest in your life, just because he has views you don't like.
Make yourself so positive in every other regard that it's impossible for them not to like you just because you make their ideas look stupid.
